Ti-Ratana
Pet Friendly Premises
Buddhism teaches us to be compassionate and kind to all living beings, and that all living beings have the Buddha nature, animals included.

Some of our centres welcome your furry friends to partake in dedicated spiritual ceremonies for them.

Taking Refuge in the Triple Gem for pets
Your furry friends may be able to understand some words - but unfortunately not enough to sit in on our Dhamma Classes. Therefore, to build affinity between them and the teaching of the Buddha, they are welcome to participate in the Ceremony of Taking Refuge (Pets Edition) at our Cheras and Puchong branches. This service is by appointment only. For our Puchong branch, you may bring your pets any time but do keep them in a carrier, on a leash they are comfortable with or carry them personally. Kindly also ensure that they are toilet trained or wear a diaper. We may politely ask that you keep them in one isolated area should anyone else present have allergies or sensitivities to pet dander.
Rescuing Animals
Many of Ti-Ratana's Sangha Members, Committee Members and Staff constantly participate in activities related to rescuing animals and ensuring that they have the best nuturing homes.
Ti-Ratana Heights, championed by our Chief Reverend Ven Datuk Dr K. Sri Dhammartana and supported by Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden Resident Monk Bhante H. Hemaloka houses a stray dog shelter.
Ti-Ratana Cheras runs a mini cat shelter headed and managed by Resident Nun Bhikkhuni Ven Fa Zhi. Ven Asst Prof Dr Karma Taishi Choedron raises her adopted pets privately as an independent self supporting Sangha as an assistant professor in environmental studies at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
Many of our layperson commitees are engaged in caring for the welfare of our furry friends, and we encourage everyone to do so too. It starts with the small basic principles like "Adopt, don't shop", and "Trap, neuter, release".

We also support the release of non invasive and beneficial local species for Liberation of Life spiritually.
